International Suppliers
We are always looking to expand our network of home-country suppliers. We import from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri-Lanka, Egypt, Poland, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Latvia, Iraq and Iran. We need individuals who can visit Publishers, Emerging Authors, Book Fairs, Local Book Markets and find us the books that they would enjoy reading if they were living abroad, far from home. Ideally, you'll be an established bookseller or publisher, with email, a website, and a credible portfolio of overseas clients.
You will be providing English transliteration slips and dual language catalogues. You will also be reviewing our stocklists to ensure you don't send us books that we already have in stock. You will be sourcing books which meet a specific criteria, or even for specific titles and volumes. You'll need to be accustomed to International Trade, and reliable with Stock Matching and Just-In-Time deadlines. Distributors (Patla Desks)
Our Patla desks are very popular. They are regularly purchased in lots of 500 by local communities and madrasas. However, we have a couple of challenges for supplying these desks. Firstly, storage is at a premium at our Bradford office. Secondly, with the majority of Madrasa staff not using the internet or email, some legwork is involved.
Hence, the opportunity for distributors to import and sell the Patla Desks. Our commission is minimal, the scope is vast in the UK and abroad. If you feel you have the contacts (and the storage space), please call us to discuss how you could become involved.

Currently we have no full-time, office-based positions available.
However, we are always building upon our 'Language Pool'. You could work with Books Asia part-time, or even work from home. You'll need good language skills, and an attention to detail and quality. It helps if you have a love of books and libraries too.
We are looking for articulate employees of any age group, who can speak and read Urdu, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Cantonese, Arabic, Polish or Farsi. Your English needs to be of a good standard too. You'll need to transliterate (and also translate) the basic bibliographic details from the books of your specialist language, and enter them onto our IT System. You'll need to be located in or around the Yorkshire area, and have broadband based IT equipment if you wish to work from home.
At the moment, our Language Pool requires further support for Urdu, Gujarati, Polish and Russian. We'll pay you for each book you process. Please give us a call if you have the necessary skills.
Global Representatives
With our solid reputation, and the seamless reach of the Internet, Books Asia is fast becoming a global business. In addition to the UK, we can supply libraries across Europe, in the USA, Australia and New Zealand. We need representatives to introduce Books Asia to your country's local libraries, and play a role in any subsequent relationship we have with them.
