Started out as a University Professor of Geography, then spent 20 years teaching in the inner-city schools of Bradford. His passion for books, knowledge and education provided the vision and drive to launch Books Asia in 1985. He is a strong believer in business ethics. He loves the book industry and embraces competition - it's what makes him tick. He's a true fan of classic Bengali literature, and is our Bengali specialist. |

Naheed has been with Books Asia for more than 10 years. She recruits and manages both permanent and pool staff, oversees quality control, and ensures that all orders are processed on time. A perfectionist by nature, Naheed's quality approach is the reason our fault returns are less than 1 in 10,000. |

HSBC Systems Analyst for 5 years, KPMG Management Consultant for 10 years, William Hill Project Manager for 5 years. And now a Freelance IT Project Manager. Responsible for Books Asia's Bespoke IT System, Library Customisations, Marc Developments and emerging technologies such as RFID and XML. With a BSc in Computer Science, he's a techie, but would never admit it. |

Nabeela joined the Books Asia team in 2010 as our Primary Cataloguer - a vital role ensuring the Data Entry and Quality Management of our Bibliographic Data. Nabeela holds an MBA (Finance) and is also currently completing an MA (IBM) at Leeds University. In addition, Nabeela has an in depth knowledge of Urdu literature, and works closely with our Suppliers to source the best Urdu stock.

Kelly joined the Books Asia team in 2010 as our Chinese Specialist. Initial cataloguing is done in China and Hong Kong - Kelly validates this data before entering the records onto our own system. Kelly is a graduate from Nankai University, and works closely with our Suppliers to source the best (traditional and simplified) Chinese stock.

Nusrat joined Books Asia in 2004 and is our Urdu specialist. She has a keen interest and in-depth knowledge of Urdu Poetry. She holds a BSc in Biology and a BEd in Psychology. [Currently on Maternity Leave].

Raj has joined Books Asia in 2008 as our Punjabi specialist. She has a BA in Philosophy. Raj has a keen interest in anything Bollywood and is well suited to being our specialist cataloguer of Indic Video and Audio resources. |

Laddi is our Punjabi and Hindi specialist. From an academic background, she holds a Post Grad in Computer Applications and is currently studying part-time for an MSc in Human Resource Management. |

Nikki has joined Books Asia in 2008. Having just completed an MSc in Biomedical Science at Bradford University, she is a member of our Servicing Team, and is our Tamil Specialist. Nikki is currently in India, working closely with our supplier base to ensure the most suitable stock is selected on our behalf. |

Viji was awarded an MSc in Internet Security from Bradford University. Having joined us in 2009, she is the newest member of our team at Books Asia. Viji looks after our IT Infrastructure, and is also one of our Tamil Specialists. |

The Language Pool
We maintain a pool of upto 15 language specialists. They transliterate all the biblio data, and enter the details onto our IT system. They are also on-call to undertake any specialist translation work, often requested by libraries.
